At Repair Café International we always love to hear from the people in our network. How are they doing, and what’s new in their Repair Café? Recently, we received a message from Patrick, secretary of Repair Café Worcester (UK). This Repair Café had a visit from the Worcestershire poet laureate, who wrote a brilliant poem for them.
A poem in celebration of the work of Repair Café volunteers
Jay Rose Ana is a poet, writer and spoken word performer. They wrote the poem “in celebration of the work of the volunteers of Repair Café Worcester, and all your other much needed locations, thank you for everything you do.”
The poem captures the typical Repair Café atmosphere, as shown in the fragment below:
Tables fill with little pieces of other people’s lives and loves.
Then something fabulous happens.
Nobody says, “Is it really worth fixing?”
They say, “Let’s have a look.”
And in those few quiet words community reveals itself.
