Our next event will be on October 3rd 2026, at the Methodist Church, Old Town, Stratford, 10am-2pm. We’re there on the first Saturday of each month.

Stratford-upon-Avon Repair Cafe a joint initiative between Net Zero Stratford and Stratford Town Trust, with sponsorship by Valpak, with the aim of repairing broken household items to save families money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and stop items going to landfill.

Check back here in the week beforehand, to see which kinds of repairs we should be able to tackle.

We’ll also have a Give and Take stall, where you can donate unwanted items or take an item that you’d find useful. You don’t have to give anything to take something – the stall just aims to find a second home to things that shouldn’t be discarded. The theme this month is Books and Magazines.  See the foot of this page for more information about Give and Take.

Generally it’s only one item per person at the Repair Cafe. Since repairs take some time, please don’t arrive after 1pm.

When you arrive we invite you to register your item on your own smartphone, which speeds things up.  If that’s a problem we can do it for you.

The Repair Café will tackle things which need repair, but NOT alterations or up-cycling projects.

There are certain items we WILL NOT accept:
• Microwaves
• Weapons
• Anything requiring welding
and TVs can be problematic – it’s best you come and describe the fault before hauling the set to the church

We perform our own Portable Appliance Testing before and after electrical repairs are made, but can’t offer PAT testing as a service if you’re not bringing the item for repair. This is for legal reasons.

Please don’t bring unwanted items you think may be useful as spares, etc. – we can’t accept these!

As the name suggests it’s a café as well, with tea, coffee and cakes for you to enjoy, making it a social event too.

Repairs are FREE, but we rely on donations – on a pay as you feel basis – to keep the café running. If you can afford to make a donation please remember to bring some cash with you, or bring your phone if it has ApplePay or Google Wallet. If you can’t afford to make a donation we will still attempt to repair your item, of course.
